    • MediumFBA Version 1.1 Now Freely Downloadable

    Early this month, In Silico Fermentation released MediumFBA version1.0, a freely downloadable MATLAB application for genome-scale metabolic modeling. MediumFBA is a GUI tool which generates growth media that ensure monoculture growth of all strains through a simple and intuitive workflow. We are gratified that MediumFBA already has over 60 downloads.

    Based on initial user feedback, we have released version 1.1 of MediumFBA which offers the following improvements over the initial release:

    • Improved support for BIGG bacterial reconstructions with a periplasmic compartment.
    • Fixes for coding bugs associated with building metabolic models, constructing media and saving/loading App states.
    • General improvements in the App workflow.
    • Example App files for co-culture models developed using AGORA and BIGG metabolic reconstructions.
