We are committed to translating recent advances in microbial metabolic modeling to engineering practice in the biotechnology and biomedical industries. In silico metabolic modeling has emerged as an increasingly powerful tool to computationally interrogate microbial cell metabolism and simulate fermentation processes. Unfortunately, biotechnology and biomedical companies usually lack the necessary in-house expertise to benefit from metabolic model-based engineering technologies. Our eagerness to expand the industrial use of metabolic modeling motivated the creation of In Silico Fermentation. Now we are excited to offer our services to clients around the world.
We believe that metabolic modeling can play a key role in advancing understanding of complex microbial systems and achieving optimization of microbial manufacturing processes. Our modeling experience spans a broad range of biotechnology and human health applications. We offer substantial expertise with genome-scale metabolic reconstructions and their use for constraint-based analysis and in silico metabolic engineering. We have developed cutting-edge methods for integrating metabolic models into bioreactor process simulations for sustainable production of fuels and chemicals. Our extensive experience with community metabolic modeling spans engineered microbial systems for chemical production to human-associated microbiomes for studying disease states.
Collaboration
In Silico Fermentation offers a flexible variety of partnership options tailored to the meet client needs. Underlying all collaborations is the excitement in seeing metabolic modeling tools understood, valued and utilized by practitioners. A major focus is the development and delivery of focused training courses aimed at elevating in silico modeling and model-based engineering within academic research groups and commercial organizations. Another current emphasis in the development and dissemination of MATLAB apps that automate metabolic modeling workflows. For proprietary internal projects, we can provide consulting services focused on systems modeling and bioprocess engineering. We also can work with industrial and academic partners to submit federal grant applications to support research and development efforts.
