Launch of In Silico Fermentation!

In Silico Fermentation was created to support the biotechnology and biomedical industries by providing consulting services, applied research, and educational training on microbial systems and processes. The company was founded by Dr. Mike Henson following his 28-year academic career as a vehicle to translate recent advances in metabolic modeling to industrial practice.

A novel computational workflow enables in silico metabolic models to be systematically interrogated to better understand microbial system function and to be fully integrated within large-scale simulations to enable bioreactor simulation and optimization. Now the same genome-scale metabolic reconstructions used for metabolic analysis of individual microbial strains can be used to simulate mixed-culture bioreactors and complex microbial communities. The modeling expertise of In Silico Fermentation spans microbial metabolism, suspension and gas fermentation processes, biofilms, and natural and engineered communities.

Please follow the launch of In Silico Fermentation and stay tuned for updates on our progress!
