In Silico Fermentation offers a wide range of opportunities for collaboration with industrial and academic partners. My expertise spans consulting activities involving microbial systems and fermentation processes, bioprocess modeling software development, industrially and federally funded research projects, and instruction and training activities for technically diverse audiences. I have the experience to tailor project deliverables to client needs.

Consulting Projects

For proprietary industrial projects, In Silico Fermentation offers substantial experience in targeted consulting activities. I can provide modeling expertise to new and existing projects in support of internal experimental work and process improvement efforts. Close interaction with company personnel and model benchmarking with bench-scale/pilot-scale and/or manufacturing-scale data facilitate the development of predictive models. Let me provide the modeling expertise needed to accelerate your projects from initial conceptualization through personnel training.

App Development

A major initiative of In Silico Fermentation is the development of metabolic modeling Apps within MATLAB to streamline workflows that traditionally have required extensive coding expertise. These free GUI-based Apps allow relatively inexperienced users to leverage the power of integrated metabolic modeling tools with minimal effort. In the first six months after their initial release, the first two Apps had over 300 downloads. Similarly, I can develop proprietary microbial systems modeling and fermentation process simulation Apps that specifically address the unique needs of industrial clients. Let my established expertise in App development advance modeling and simulation efforts within your organization.

Research Grants

In Silico Fermentation can partner with clients to submit federal grant applications to support research and development efforts. My previous academic research efforts were heavily funded by NSF and NIH through a wide variety of different funding mechanisms. By serving as a subcontractor, In Silico Fermentation can provide an important modeling component to grant applications to these agencies and in response to DOE and DOD funding initiatives. Let my experience in federally supported research improve your chances of successful grant applications.

Training Activities

In Silico Fermentation offers flexible training opportunities to advance metabolic modeling and systems thinking within your organization. These options range from short seminars for introducing basic concepts of metabolic modeling to extended workshops for hands-on learning of model-based engineering tools by participants. Depending on client location and preference, training sessions can be held in-person or remotely. Let my training expertise expand the use of metabolic model-based engineering tools within your company.
