In Silico Fermentation offers extensive experience in metabolic model-based research and development projects. I can leverage this expertise to provide industrial and academic partners with research contract services as standalone activities or as part of federally funded grants. My capabilities can be used to augment existing projects with a modeling component or to launch seed projects aimed at scoping the utility of modeling approaches.
Direct Industrial Funding
During his 28 years in academia, Dr. Henson’s research was supported by over $1.8MM in industrial grants and contracts. Unique partnerships were developed with a diverse set of companies, including DuPont, ExxonMobil Chemical, Praxair, Procter & Gamble, Sepracor, Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Unilever and several startup ventures. All these industrial collaborations were focused on in silico process engineering and supported internal experimental work. In Silico Fermentation will typically waive intellectual property rights outside the domain of general methods development. Federal Research Grants
As a former academic researcher, Dr. Henson is an expert in developing, writing and executing federal research grants. His research was heavily supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). In addition, he has significant experience preparing proposals for the Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Energy (DOE). Some of his most recent federally funded grants were:
